How do we 'relax' our busy minds?

Real questioned asked today was: “How do we take care of ourselves mentally and 'relax' our mind?”
There was NO common answer but what we did find is that we have to do what works for US!
There is not ONE life that is the same; even for two, three women who live close by, working full time jobs, and lead fairly similar lives we all have a different definition of what self-care is, and what we personally do relax our busy minds. That is totally OKAY because there are so many healthy ways to take care of ourselves that you just have to find what is that thing that will work for you and do it.
The difficult part is that when you’re in a dark place, that is very hard to do because we look for instant gratification and somehow think we can num ourselves, which doesn’t last for too long does it?
I used to come home from work and either grab a bag of chips or dive into a Ben N’ Jerry’s pint. I used food to mask my problems but after the sugar high went down, I always felt guilty, ashamed, and sorry for myself for being so out of control, and the worse part is the problems never go away! Even when life gets better, life always happens, doesn’t it?
At the end of the day, we ALL need an outlet, and the thing is; although I know most people opt to go for a bottle of wine or self- sabotage somehow, I want you to know that there is a SOLUTION… Now, I am not saying you have to do exactly as me or my friends do; I choose fitness to be my outlet, but there are so many other healthy things you can engage with that don’t require a lot of time nor money for you to do it.

I do believe I was placed in this world to help women (and men) regain control of their lives & use healthy outlets to deal with whatever life’s curve balls throws at them.
