Resolutions or Check-Ins in Life?

Whoa! Hello đđœ there đ. Itâs been 6 weeks since I last posted and I know for those of you who follow this account, thatâs a long time for an avid blogger. However, if you know the renewed Maria, youâd know I am constantly working on re-orienting myself and become less distracted to the things that pull me away from God, my family, or anything that robs me peace.
TK for those checking on me but Iâm happy to share Iâm doing great and just for the record, Iâd encourage you to do the same, especially if youâre starting the new year with a goal in mind. If you find yourself checking your phone upon waking, spend 30 min + scrolling, and spend more time on the screen vs. being present, take the break sis! Unfortunately these mini computers are so addicting so discipline is a virtue here đ€Ș. I deleted both apps FB & IG on my phone and worked great but it definitely revealed to me my need to scroll/post.
I personally want to continue fasting from social media as needed. I confess it is hard for me to pull away from my need to help those around me with encouraging words & I do believe social media can be a positive tool to help me do so. However, through prayer God calls me out in the areas that need pruning; Iâm just making room for what really matters to me.
I donât believe in resolutions anymore but I do believe in evaluating seasons of life. So naturally, the beginning of the year is a good time to do so. As a couple with my hubby & with our kids, we usually have a conservation on things that are going well and things that need revamping. Give it a try & include the kiddos in this process. Laughs & arguments are allowed. Itâs all part of the process đ
Happy New Year friends! Letâs make it a good one đđœ
