Geared 🆙 for the New School Year!

If you’re a mama like me I see you! 👀

Sister you’re not alone in your worry;

Are you wondering how the kids will do in school this year?

What friends are they going to have?

Who will be the first to come home with tears?

What classes will they struggle with?

Which ones will they love?

Will they be able to achieve? Meet their, Your, or their teacher’s expectations? ? ?

Not to even mention our worst nightmare that their school might be the victim of a mass shooter… or that they might be bullied by another child who has also been bullied?

If you’re anything like me you’ve thought about more than one of these things haven’t you?

We hand off our most precious human beings to the world, spending the majority of their time at schools where they may face situations they are not used to or comfortable with; they see a part of the world that we as parents try our best to protect them from. My friend I’m by no means experienced in this as I too, worry. However I place my confidence in Jesus who overcame the world.

In my devotional this morning I was reminded of Romans 12:21 that says

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

I love this because it helps me remember that my kids are good children, coming from a good home who has Christ at its core. This is a firm foundation that they can carry through with them and be reminded that Jesus overcame evil so they can too; it’s our job to equip them and declare these truths over them and most importantly, to TRUST them with God our Father instead of trying to control the unforeseen.

I’m choosing to surrender my kids to Him who is faithful to us and watching them when we cannot.

Father God I just ask for protection over my kids, my friends and family, and all the children out there who are eager to get started in a new school year in Jesus name we pray, Amen!
